Abstract

With the aim of providing an efficient decomposition method for vulcanized rubber, a decomposition method for vulcanized rubber includes causing a radical initiator selected from peroxides to act on vulcanized rubber or a composition containing the vulcanized rubber at 0°C to 60°C in a solvent, under an atmosphere containing oxygen gas, to thereby cause conversion into a soluble decomposition product.
