Abstract

The present invention relates a method and system for generating digital representations of engineering diagrams in a computing environment (100). The method includes receiving engineering diagrams associated with assets (108A-N) installed in technical installation (106) from data sources (120A-N). The method includes determining regions of interest within the engineering diagrams. Further, the method includes detecting a presence of connectors existing between components within the region of interest. Further, the method includes determining patterns associated with the connectors based on the properties, a type, and a position of the connectors. Further, the method includes detecting connection paths existing between the components based on the connectors and the patterns. Additionally, the method includes generating digital representation of the engineering diagrams based on the connection paths. Furthermore, the method includes outputting the digital representation of the engineering diagrams. Further, the method includes validating the digital representation based on real-time feedback data.
