Abstract
A method for operating a security monitoring system is provided, comprising the steps of detecting (301) a movement in an exterior of a premises to be monitored, capturing (302) images by means of an image detection unit arranged in the exterior of the premise, and determining (303) if the detected movement is caused by a person. If said movement is determined to be caused by a person, the method comprises attempting to identify (304) said person by means of at least one of a number of identification methods. If said person is identified as an authorized person, the method comprises disarming (305) the security monitoring system.
