Abstract

A stator for a rotating electrical machine including: a stator core having a plurality of slots; and a stator coil formed by segment coils, each of which is configured using a flat wire with a rectangular cross section, is inserted into different slots spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the stator core, and has a pair of insertion portions that are inserted into the different slots and an interconnecting portion that interconnects the pair of insertion portions, wherein when Ns denotes a slot pitch, which is the pitch of the slots into which the pair of the insertion portions of each of the segment coils are inserted, and S denotes the total number of slots in the stator core, the following relational expression (1) is satisfied.
