Abstract

A support device for supporting workpieces and a machining center including said support device are described, wherein two or more support bars are arranged above a horizontal worktable parallel to one another and are slidably coupled to guiding means with the ability to perform transverse movements so that they can be approached and moved away from one another, each support bar carrying two or more movable suction cup locking devices with the ability to slide along a longitudinal axis of the respective support bar, each locking device comprising an upper end engageable with the workpiece and a lower end engageable with the worktable, blowing means configured to generate an air cushion at the lower end of each locking device to facilitate its movement on the worktable.
