Abstract

A vacuum generating device includes a main body (500), and a suction device (100) including a vacuum pump (160). The suction device (100) is removable from the main body. The main body (500) and the suction device (100) are engaged with each other by engagement mechanisms (134, 135, 514, and 515). The suction device (100) includes terminals (181 to 185) for supplying power to the vacuum pump (160) and a pipe (167) passing air sucked by operation of the vacuum pump (160). The main body (500) includes a connector (518) and the connection port (517). The terminals (181 to 185) are connected to the connector (518). The pipe (167) is connected to the connection port (517). The terminals (181 to 185) of the suction device (100) and the connector (518) of the main body (500), and the pipe (167) of the suction device (100) and the connection port (517) of the main body (500) are connected to each other on the same surface as a surface (S1) for engagement between the engagement mechanisms (134, 135, 514, and 515).
