Abstract

A work machine includes a body (1, 2) and a front work implement (3) equipped with a bucket (7), and the front work implement includes a thumb attachment (8) that cooperates with the bucket to hold an object. The work machine includes a hydraulic pump (19, 20), a bucket cylinder (11), a thumb cylinder (12), a bucket operation device (14), a bucket directional control valve (21), a thumb attachment operation device (15), a thumb attachment directional control valve (22), and a controller (13). The controller controls the thumb attachment directional control valve so that the operation of the thumb attachment is linked to the operation of the bucket only while the operation signal of the bucket is being input by the bucket operation device, when the automatic mode in which the operation of the thumb attachment is automatically controlled is set.
