Abstract

The invention provides a method for evaluating a performance of a wind turbine, a computer program, a training data set and a performance evaluation system comprising inter alia the following steps: clustering a plurality of wind turbines with a trained machine learning algorithm into a plurality of clusters of wind turbines, acquiring the at least one site specific parameter for the wind turbine, identifying a specific cluster from the plurality of clusters with comparable conditions to the wind turbine based on the at least one site specific parameter of the wind turbines comprised in the specific cluster and the at least one site specific parameter of the wind turbine, determining a cluster performance index of the specific cluster based on the at least one power production parameter of the wind turbines comprised in the specific cluster, evaluating the performance of the wind turbine.
