Abstract

A hybrid process furnace (1) comprises a main structure consisting of a radiant section (10) and a convective section (20). The radiant section (10) comprises a chamber (12), comprising one or more side walls (14), a plurality of process tubes (18) configured to receive within them a process fluid to be processed, one or more burners (11) arranged below with respect to the radiant section (10) and facing inside the chamber (12). The convective section (20) defines within it a channel (22) in which a bundle of tubes (28, 28') is arranged. The radiant section (10) further comprises a plurality of layers of insulating material (13) engaged to the inner surface of the side walls (14) of the chamber (12), and a plurality of heating elements (30) anchored to the layers of insulating material (13).
