Abstract

An image forming apparatus (1) according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a shutter member (15) and a control member (17). The shutter member (15) is provided along a transportation path (14) for a sheet (2), and has an open state in which passage of the sheet (2) is allowed or a closed state in which the passage of the sheet (2) is not allowed. The shutter member (15) enters the open state when subjected to a force of a specified magnitude from the sheet (2) due to an end of the sheet (2) being brought into contact with the shutter member (15). The control member (17) enables control performed to change the specified magnitude.
