Abstract

A battery case according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an accommodation portion accommodating an electrode assembly including a positive electrode and a negative electrode stacked in an alternating manner with a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, wherein an edge portion of the negative electrode is protruded outwards than the positive electrode. A bottom surface of the accommodation portion may include a main area; and a peripheral area located around the main area, wherein the peripheral area forms a predetermined step with the main area, and overlaps the edge portion of the negative electrode in a stack direction of the electrode assembly.
