Abstract

According to some aspects of the present disclosure, a battery management apparatus may include a balancing circuit including a plurality of balancing switches, each of which may be provided on a discharge path, along which one of a plurality of battery cells may be discharged and a processor configured to set a balancing target voltage of each battery cell of the plurality of battery cells based on a high voltage exposure history of each respective battery cell of the plurality of battery cells when balancing of the plurality of battery cells may be required, and configured to perform the balancing of the plurality of battery cells by controlling balancing switches corresponding to each battery cell so that a cell voltage of each battery cell becomes the balancing target voltage of each respective battery cell.
