Abstract

Disclosed herein are embodiments of an apparatus for measuring an amount of analyte in a biological sample, the apparatus comprising a pipetting unit for transferring an aliquot of a received biological sample into a sample receptacle for analysis of the aliquot of the received biological sample, wherein the pipetting unit comprises a sample transfer needle, the needle comprising a circumferential wall, the circumferential wall defining an elongated lumen surrounded by the circumferential wall.
