Abstract
The invention relates to an optical article comprising a surface-functionalized optical substrate and an optical element deposited on the same, an eyewear comprising this article, a method for functionalizing the substrate and a method of manufacturing this article.The optical substrate (5) is based on a first thermoset polymer and has a first outer surface, and the optical element (10) is based on a second thermoset polymer selected from (meth)acrylate based resins, has a second inner surface and is deposited on the optical substrate (5), the second inner surface being bonded to the first outer surface by covalent bonds at an interface thereof.According to the invention, the first outer surface is functionalized by functional groups comprising a product of a radical crosslinking reaction between the second thermoset polymer and a derivative of an organosilane compound which contains a vinyl or (meth)acrylate end group, and the derivative of the organosilane compound is a basic hydrolyzate thereof, the basic hydrolysate being grafted on the first outer surface to at least partially form said interface.
