Abstract

A method of adhering substrate surfaces to one another comprises applying a laminating adhesive to one of the surfaces and contacting the surfaces with one another. The laminating adhesive may be food grade compliant and compostable. The laminating adhesive comprises a blend of a sulfonated copolyester dispersion and a water soluble crosslinker, preferably the water soluble crosslinker comprises at least one of a polyfunctional isocyanate having a functionality of at least about 2.0, preferably at least about 2.2, more preferably at least about 2.5, further preferably more than about 2.7, even further preferably at least about 2.9 and most preferably at least about 3.0, a polyfunctional epoxy having a functionality of at least about 2.0, preferably at least about 2.2, more preferably at least about 2.5, further preferably more than about 2.7, even further preferably at least about 2.9 and most preferably at least about 3.0 and combinations thereof.
