Abstract
Metallic housing (5) for a firestop through penetration device (4). The housing (5) is preformed to be installed in a breakthrough (3) of a firewall (2) to form a side wall of an axial channel and configured to receive penetrants (10); it has one or more of the following constructional features reducing thermal conduction between its opposite openings (6, 7): - a radial thickness of less than 2 mm; and/or - stainless steel, chrome steel, and/or other steel alloys with chrome, nickel, molybdenum, titanium, and/or tungsten used as its material(s); and/or - a corrugated longitudinal profile, increasing the length of heat conduction paths connecting the opposite openings (6, 7); and/or - a plurality of slots (17, 17a, 17b) extending at least partly in a circumferential direction and being successively arranged in the axial direction with offsets, increasing the length of heat conduction paths connecting the opposite openings (6, 7).
