Abstract

The present invention relates to an abnormal current detection apparatus comprising: a semiconductor switch connected to one of a plurality of power lines connecting a power system and a power device, so as to enable the power system to be connected to the power device; a gate driver for applying a gate voltage to the semiconductor switch; and a control unit for determining whether a ground fault current exists on the basis of a current flowing into the semiconductor switch between the connected power system and power device, controlling the gate driver to disconnect the power device from the power system on the basis of a determination result, controlling, when the power device is disconnected from the power system, the gate driver at preconfigured regular time intervals to re-determine whether a ground fault current exists on the basis of the current flowing into the semiconductor switch, and controlling the gate driver to re-disconnect or maintain a connected state, on the basis of a re-determination result.
