Abstract

Power supply and monitoring in a ring network is described herein. An example apparatus includes a first power supply input/output (I/O) port, a second power supply I/O port, and a power control circuit configured to delay power from being supplied to the apparatus via the first power supply I/O port and the second power supply I/O port, and, upon a short circuit occurring on one of the first power supply I/O port and the second power supply I/O port during the delay, isolate the one of the first power supply I/O port and the second power supply I/O port on which the short circuit is occurring after the delay and supply power to the apparatus via the other one of the first power supply I/O port and the second power supply I/O port on which the short circuit is not occurring after the delay.
