Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a battery module and a battery pack, and more specifically, to a battery module and a battery pack capable of regulating internal pressure by capturing internal gas. A battery module according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a plurality of battery cells, a gas capture unit disposed at a position adjacent to the battery cell, and a module case accommodating the plurality of battery cells and the gas capture unit, wherein the gas capture unit is broken when the internal pressure of the module case reaches a preset pressure, and captures gas to regulate the internal pressure of the module case, so that the module case of the battery module may be prevented from being damaged by the internal pressure by blocking the internal pressure of the battery module from rising above a certain level.
