Abstract

A cable connection method includes: removing, from an offshore wind power facility, the electrical conductors of a first cable and a second cable that are serially connected to the offshore wind power facility and that transmit electric power; makes the conductor end portions, which are removed, waterproof and houses the conductor end portion of the first cable in a mobile object as well as houses the conductor end portion of the second cable in a mobile object; suspends the mobile objects from the offshore wind power facility using wire ropes, and holds the mobile objects in the sea; and lifts the mobile objects, which are held in the sea, onto a workboat. The mobile objects that are lifted onto the workboat are dismantled, and the conductor end portion of the first cable housed in a mobile object is connected to the conductor end portion of the second cable housed in a mobile object. A connecting object is assembled that includes a closed protective object which houses the conductor end portions connected to each other, and the connecting object is lowered to the bottom of the sea.
