Abstract

An overcurrent protection arrangement (100) for a high-voltage electrical system (102), the overcurrent protection arrangement comprising: a solid-state relay (104) arranged between a power source (106) and at least one load (108a-c); and a control circuit (112) operatively connected to the solid-state relay, the control circuit being configured to: detect an overcurrent condition (212) in the system; and control the solid-state relay to limit the current to an average current level (204) exceeding a nominal operational current level (206) of the system.
