Abstract

The camera module for vehicles comprises a housing assembly, an electronics carrier received within an inner space of the housing assembly, an image sensor coupled to a first main surface of the electronics carrier, and a lens assembly being in optical communication with the image sensor so as to acquire a captured image. Also, the lens assembly and the electronics carrier are attached to each other. Furthermore, an inner side of the housing assembly contacts the first main surface of the electronics carrier and/or a lens flange of the lens assembly. The lens assembly is a projection that extends radially outwards from the lens assembly. A method for assembling a camera module is also provided.
