Abstract

A molten metal leakage detection device that can suppress erroneous detection of leakage of molten metal is provided. A molten metal leakage detection device is configured to detect leakage of molten metal from a molten metal handling facility. The molten metal leakage detection device includes an image taking unit configured to take images of the molten metal handling facility at predetermined time intervals to generate image data, a data acquisition unit configured to acquire time-series data of a number of pixels indicating a specific color included in a predetermined region of the image data, and a detection unit configured to detect, using the time-series data, that the molten metal leaks.
