Abstract

A building article comprising: a conventional building article comprising an inner layer of conventional formulation; and at least one pigmented protective layer applied to at least one external surface of the conventional building article, wherein the at least one pigmented protective layer comprises a mixture of pigmented water, at least one binder and at least one aggregate; wherein the at least one pigmented protective layer comprises a minimum thickness of 3 mm; wherein the at least one aggregate comprises a maximum particle size of 70% to 90% of the thickness of the at least one pigmented protective layer; and wherein the at least one pigmented protective layer is mass-pigmented throughout its thickness, such that colour is homogeneously distributed within the pigmented protective layer; wherein the pigmented protective layer is configured to allow localised surface removal of up to 0.3 mm without loss of the original aesthetic appearance.
