Abstract

A method is provided for preventing an arc-flash event while an electrically powered accessory disposed on a transport unit is connected to an electrical power source. The method includes obtaining movement data indicating whether the transport unit is moving, and obtaining electrical power data indicating whether the electrically powered accessory is receiving electrical power from the electrical power source. The method also includes determining that the transport unit is moving, and determining that the electrically powered accessory is connected to the electrical power source. Also, the method includes deenergizing a connection that supplies power from the electrical power source to one or more loads of the electrically powered accessory upon detecting both that the transport unit is moving and that the electrically powered accessory is connected to the electrical power source.
