Abstract
A cathode active material includes a primary particle (1) and a coating (5). The primary particle (1) includes an olivine phosphate compound. The olivine phosphate compound includes at least one selected from the group consisting of lithium manganese phosphate and lithium manganese iron phosphate. The primary particle (1) is doped with Me. The Me is a typical metal element serving as a divalent cation. The coating (5) covers at least part of a surface of the primary particle (1). The coating (5) contains carbon. At least one selected from the group consisting of an Me-C bond and an Me-O-C bond is detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
