Abstract

An apparatus for pre-diagnosing safety of a battery of a vehicle includes a memory configured to store computer-readable instructions and a processor configured to execute the computer-readable instructions. The processor is configured to determine a first voltage and a second voltage for each cell, among a plurality of cells of the battery, during parking of the vehicle. The processor is also configured to determine short circuit resistance for each cell, among the plurality of cells, based on the first voltage and the second voltage determined for each cell. The processor is further configured to determine whether there is a micro short circuit of each cell, among the plurality of cells, based on a comparison between the short circuit resistance determined for each cell and a threshold.
