Abstract
A battery management apparatus according to an embodiment disclosed herein includes a voltage obtaining unit configured to obtain voltage data of each of a plurality of battery cells over time and a controller configured to calculate a first value regarding a voltage behavior of each of the plurality of battery cells in each of a plurality of cycles based on the voltage data obtained in the plurality of cycles, calculate a second value through normalization of the first values in each of the plurality of cycles, calculate time-series data of the second value of each of the plurality of battery cells for the plurality of cycles, and analyze a trend of time-series data of the plurality of battery cells to detect an abnormal battery cell.
