Abstract

A system and method for power optimized RFID scanning and RFID tag localization is disclosed. The system comprises at least one antenna coupled to a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader configured to read at least one RFID tag associated with at least one package. Further, at least one radar sensor is communicatively coupled to the RFID reader. The at least one radar sensor is configured to detect a position of the at least one RFID tag associated with the at least one package. Further, the RFID reader is configured to select at least one antenna based on the detected position of the at least one RFID tag. The RFID reader is further configured to direct the at least one antenna towards the detected position of the at least one RFID tag.
