Abstract
The present invention relates to a negative electrode active material for a rechargeable battery, a method of preparing the same, and a rechargeable battery including the same, wherein the negative electrode active material for a rechargeable battery includes a crystalline carbon-containing layer surrounding a hollow cavity; a silicon-based oxide contained within the hollow cavity; and an amorphous carbon-containing layer formed on an outer surface of the crystalline carbon-containing layer.
