Abstract
The present invention provides a composition for negative electrodes of secondary batteries, the composition containing a silicon-based negative electrode active material and a dispersant, wherein: the dispersant contains a lignin component that contains a lignin derivative; the lignin derivative has a functional group represented by formula (1); and the S content in the functional group is 0.1 mass% to 7.0 mass%. formula (1): -SO<3>M (In the formula, M represents a hydrogen atom, a monovalent metal, or a divalent metal.)
