Abstract
This application provides a battery management method and a related device, and relates to the field of terminal technologies. The method includes the following steps: a power-on level is received, with charging and discharging channels of a first battery cell and a second battery cell being disabled; a first battery management chip controls the first battery cell to discharge, and a second battery management chip controls the second battery cell not to discharge, in response to the power-on level; a second battery management chip controls the second battery cell to discharge when a voltage difference between the first battery cell and the second battery cell is less than or equal to a power-on voltage difference threshold; and an electronic device is controlled to power on when both the first battery cell and the second battery cell are discharged. According to this application, batteries are separately managed, and discharging paths of the batteries are sequentially enabled to improve reliability and safety of using a plurality of batteries connected in parallel.
