Abstract
An electromagnetic-wave absorbing sheet according to this application includes: a base; and a magnetic layer. The magnetic layer contains a magnetic material and a binder, the magnetic material contains flat carbonyl iron, and the full width at half maximum at the peak of the (200) plane of α iron detected by powder X-ray diffraction for the magnetic layer is 0.15 or more and less than 0.40. A method for manufacturing an electromagnetic-wave absorbing sheet according to the present application includes: a step of subjecting carbonyl iron to reduction treatment; a step of subjecting the reduced carbonyl iron that has been subjected to the reduction treatment to flattening treatment; a step of producing a coating material for forming a magnetic layer by mixing the reduced carbonyl iron that has been subjected to the flattening treatment, a binder, and a solvent together; and a step of applying the coating material for forming a magnetic layer to a base and drying the coating material.
