Abstract

This application provides an image display method and an electronic device. The method is applied to an electronic device including a display screen, and the method includes: generating a first Vsync signal at a first moment, and starting to display a first image in response to the first Vsync signal, where the first Vsync signal corresponds to a first Vsync signal period, and first display duration for displaying the first image is the same as duration of the first Vsync signal period; generating a second Vsync signal at a second moment, and starting to display a second image in response to the second Vsync signal, where the second Vsync signal corresponds to a second Vsync signal period, the second moment is after the first moment, and the second image is a next frame of image of the first image; and detecting whether composition of display data of a third image is completed after starting to display the second image, where the third image is a next frame of image of the second image; and delivering a control instruction to the display screen if composition of the display data of the third image is completed, where the control instruction is used to control a frequency of generating a Vsync signal. In this solution, a speed of displaying an image by the electronic device can be increased, and hand-following performance can be improved.
