Abstract
Provided are a battery and an energy storage device. The battery includes: a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, a separator, and an electrolyte solution. The positive electrode plate includes a positive current collector and a positive active material layer. The negative electrode plate includes a negative current collector and a negative active material layer. The electrolyte solution includes an electrolyte, a solvent, and an additive. A ratio of a weight of the negative active material layer per unit area to a weight of the positive active material layer per unit area is z, and z ranges from 0.46 to 0.55. The additive includes additive A, and the additive A is a substance containing an oxalic acid structure.
