Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a secondary battery and a method of manufacturing the secondary battery. The secondary battery includes a case having an opening formed therein and an electrode assembly accommodated in the case. The electrode assembly includes a first electrode, a separator, and a second electrode, with the first electrode being electrically connected to the case. A cap assembly seals an opening formed in the case and is electrically connected to the second electrode. A gasket is interposed between the case and the cap assembly. The cap assembly includes a protrusion extending upward along a perimeter of the cap assembly, and the case includes a crimping portion that surrounds the protrusion and fixes the cap assembly to the case.
