Abstract

A method for wireless communications is described, the method comprising encoding a set of information bits based on a low-density parity-check, LDPC, code to produce a code word, the LDPC code being defined by a base graph (1400) having a first number of variable nodes (1404) and a second number of check nodes (1402); puncturing bits in the code word corresponding to at least two of the first number of variable nodes (1404) in the base graph (1400) to produce a punctured code word, wherein the base graph (1400) includes at least one additional variable node (1406) for the at least two punctured variable nodes (1404), and wherein each additional variable node (1406) is connected to one check node (1402) of the second number of check nodes (1402), the one check node (1402) being further coupled to only a pair of punctured variable nodes (1404) of the at least two punctured variable nodes (1404); and transmitting a signal associated with the punctured code word. Further, a corresponding apparatus and a computer readable medium are described.
