Abstract
Provided are a passive optical network architecture, a data transmission method, and a main unit. The architecture includes an FTTH optical line terminal, the main unit, and a sub FTTR unit, where each FTTH optical line terminal is connected to at least one main unit, each main unit is connected to at least one sub FTTR unit, and the main unit is configured to establish a forwarding channel between the FTTH optical line terminal and the sub FTTR unit, and forward, at an equal delay, an upstream frame and a downstream frame between the FTTH optical line terminal and the sub FTTR unit through the forwarding channel.
