Abstract
A medical device comprising: a pump unit, wherein the pump unit is configured to control a pump such that the pump is configured to deliver a treatment to a user as required; a power supply unit comprising one or more batteries; an emergency unit configured to perform an emergency procedure if a fault is detected in one or more circuits of the medical device; and a capacitor; wherein the power supply unit is configured to charge the capacitor; the capacitor is configured to power the pump unit; and the capacitor is configured to provide power to the emergency unit.
