Abstract

A fluid delivery system including a nasal cannula having a manifold is provided. The manifold includes a housing including an internal cavity, and a pair of nasal prongs extending from the housing. Each of the pair of nasal prongs include a first conduit extending from the housing and in flow communication with the internal cavity of the housing. The first conduit is configured to supply oxygen to a patient. Each of the pair of nasal prongs also include a second conduit positioned adjacent the first conduit, where the second conduit is configured to receive carbon dioxide (CO<2>) exhaled by the patient, and an internal wall separating the first conduit and the second conduit.
