Abstract
The present disclosure provides a method (100) for producing green steel (600) using an environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient process. The method (100) includes the step of- obtaining scrap (201) from one or more sources of scrap (700), wherein the scrap (201) contains different types of scrap alloys (202) and use of Pig iron and DRI is prohibited. The obtained scrap (201) is charged into an electric furnace (203), preferably an electric arc furnace (EAF), and melted in the presence of a controlled supply of oxygen. Oxygen supply is regulated using one or more controlling means (205) to ensure precise metallurgical reactions. The molten steel (204) obtained from the electric arc furnace (203) is transferred to a refining furnace (207) for purification and chemical composition adjustment. The refined molten steel (204) is transferred to vacuum refining unit (208) and then transferred to a casting area (206) for solidification of green steel (600).
