Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a controller configured to: receive a channel impulse response from a UWB node operating in a radar mode, wherein the UWB node is mounted in a vehicle and directed towards a traversal surface of the vehicle such that the channel impulse response is indicative of reflections of a radar signal from the traversal surface; characterise an irregularity in the traversal surface based on the received channel impulse response and one or more signature channel impulse responses, CIRs, wherein each of the signature CIRs are indicative of an irregularity which may be identified in the CIR of the UWB node.
