Abstract

A communication system includes a first electronic device configured to connect through a wired connection to another electronic device and a second electronic device configured to connect through a wired connection to the first electronic device. The first electronic device includes a determination unit configured to obtain a potential produced when the first electronic device is connected through the wired connection to the another electronic device and to determine a type of the another electronic device based on the obtained potential, a processing unit configured to prepare data including device information of the first electronic device based on determination that the another electronic device is the second electronic device and a request from the second electronic device, and a communication unit configured to start communication with the second electronic device after preparation of the data is completed and to allow the second electronic device to obtain the device information of the first electronic device. The second electronic device is configured to perform processing based on the device information of the first electronic device.
