Abstract

Composite structures (202) and methods of forming composite structures (202) are presented. A composite structure (202) comprises a first plurality of prepreg plies (231), a second plurality of prepreg plies (233), and an infused functional structure (204) between the first plurality of prepreg plies and the second plurality of prepreg plies. The infused functional structure comprises a first number of insulative layers (206), a second number of insulative layers (210), a functional ply (208) comprising a number of functional components (214) between the first number of insulative layers and the second number of insulative layers, and a resin (222) infused into the first number of insulative layers (206) and the second number of insulative layers (210).
