Abstract
The present disclosure provides a cellulose pretreatment agent, a method for pretreating cellulose with the cellulose pretreatment agent, and a method for producing a reducing sugar. The cellulose pretreatment agent is an organic acid comprising at least one sulfonic acid group, a carbon-based material derived from the organic acid comprising at least one sulfonic acid group, or a g-C<3>N<4>/FeOCl Fenton-like composite. The pretreatment of the present disclosure can be performed under a mild condition and the cellulose-containing biomass pretreated with the cellulose pretreatment agent of the present disclosure can be enzymatically hydrolyzed under a mild condition, with less hazardous chemicals used.
