Abstract

The invention relates to converting a lock from one to two different keys, comprising replacing an original by a dummy cylinder (14) with a revolving shaft, placing a first and second cogwheel on opposite ends of the shaft, a first and second half cylinder (6, 7) on a first and a third half cylinder (9) on a second side of a door or gate, the first and third half cylinder being operable with a first (8) and the second half cylinder with a second key, installing a first transmission system for transferring rotary motion of the first and second half cylinder to the first cogwheel and a second transmission system for transferring rotary motion of the third half cylinder to the second cogwheel, the first, second and third half cylinders being disconnected from its transmission system when the key is removed from the half cylinder.
