Abstract
A ray-based detection system for detecting a wave blocking content within an environment (E) in based on ray-tracing. The system suits for detecting presence of an object or a human in the environment, in particular for safety of security applications. Two alternative implementations are provided for inferring the presence of the object or human from sensed waves. The system also allows distinguishing between several postures of the detected human. The waves implemented by the ray-based detection system may be radio waves, acoustic waves or laser-emitted waves.
