Abstract
A secondary battery including a case, an electrode assembly housed in the case, and a cap assembly sealing the case. The cap assembly includes a cap down above the electrode assembly and a safety vent above the cap down. The safety vent includes a first notching region. The cap down includes a second notching region. Sizes of the first notching region and the second notching region are different.
