Abstract

Provided a granular iron manufacturing apparatus capable of suppressing mutual coalescence of granular iron by efficiently cooling molten iron and by efficiently cooling the granular iron being conveyed even at a conveyance equipment such as a conveyor. A granular iron manufacturing apparatus including a granulation equipment configured to break up molten iron into a liquid drop, a cooling water tank configured to cool the liquid drop into granular iron by allowing the liquid drop to fall into cooling water, and a conveyance equipment configured to convey the granular iron outside the cooling water tank includes: a water-flow controlling container that is provided inside the cooling water tank and whose upper and lower ends are open; and a cooling water pipe group configured to supply cooling water into the water-flow controlling container. The conveyance equipment includes a conveyor provided below the water-flow controlling container and configured to convey the granular iron from inside the cooling water tank to outside the cooling water tank, and a cooling water supplier provided, inside the cooling water tank, above the conveyor and configured to supply cooling water for cooling the granular iron conveyed out by the conveyor.
