Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for synthesizing a carbon coated lithium iron phosphate, the method comprising the following steps:a. Preparing a FePO<sub>4</sub> hydrate precursor by mixing an iron containing compound and a phosphorus containing compound in a solvent at a pH ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 in presence of a precipitating agent that is also a carbon coating source;b. Drying the FePO<sub>4</sub> hydrate precursor;c. Mixing the dried FePO<sub>4</sub> precursor with a lithium salt and a source of carbon;d. Sintering the mixture obtained after step c) in an inert atmosphere at a temperature ranging from 550°C to 1000°C for 1 to 15h.
